Firearms, 14th Edition, Cartridges of the World along with Ammo and Ballistics II will round out this column. Firearms 14th Edition is a 2-inch thick, soft covered, 1,408-paged book with over 6,000 photographs and is authored by Ned Schwing. This is a book that is very difficult to put down. The book contains more than 110,000 accurate prices of all major makes and models of firearms and catalogues them along with prices for six different types of conditions of each gun and history details of 25,000 of these makes and models. I have priced and re-priced every gun I own plus many I have sold, traded and wished I still owned.

Cartridges of the World 10th Edition Revised and Expanded is a 526 page, soft covered, 8 1/2x 10 inch book authored by Frank C. Barnes and edited by Stan Skinner. This book is a completely illustrated reference for over 1,500 of the world’s most important and popular cartridges. There is very little left out of this book. It is complete with factory loading and ballistics for these factory loads along with enlarged dimensional drawings of each cartridge. This book is also available from Krause Publications at a cost of $29.00.
A book that compliments the previous two is Ammo and Ballistics II by Bob Forker and published by Safari Press Inc. It is a 408 page, nicely illustrated, soft covered book that is 8 3/8 x 10 7/8 inches. This book has a mountain of up to date ballistic data. There is ballistic information and data from every manufacturer who ever mass-produced ammo here in the U.S. There is ballistic data for ammo out to over 1,000 yards, for 150 different size cartridges and for 1,900 different powder loads and bullet weights including data on center fire and 22 rim fire cartridges and cartridges for both rifles and handguns.
