Camp Barry Scholarship
The New Hampshire Wildlife Federation offers half scholarships to campers who have enrolled in Camp Barry's Conservation Camp. Campers interested in the scholarship must apply by downloading and filling out the application below. Applicants must have secured a spot for one of the weeks of camp before they apply for consideration. The deadline for applying is March 22, 2019 and applications should be sent to NHWF 54 Portsmouth Street Concord, NH 03301 or emailed to [email protected] More information on the camp can be found at extension.unh.edu/programs/barry-conservation-4-h-camp

New Hampshire Wildlife Federation Scholarship Award School Information Sheet
The purpose of this scholarship is to assist and encourage students in the area of environmental studies relating to conservation and wildlife management at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
ELIGIBILITY
- Preference will be given to graduating high school seniors with at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent grade point average.
- Students must be pursuing a degree at an accredited intuition of higher education (i.e. junior college, community college, technical college, college or university).
- Students must support conservation and the preservation of hunting, fishing and trapping traditions and ideally actively participate in a related activity.
- Students should be involved in some extracurricular school activities. (I. e. FFA, Ecology Club, Science Club, Student Counsel, Sports, Music etc).
- Students should demonstrate some community involvement (i.e. scouting, 4-H, civic group or club or volunteer work, or have an affiliation with a conservation, wildlife or sportsmen’s organization).
- Student must submit an essay and short autobiography exhibiting an interest and dedication to wildlife conservation.
- Two (2) letters of recommendation must be attached to the application (i.e. teacher, counselor, community leader or clergy).
- Students must submit complete applications to the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation by May 1st.
- Employees and board members of the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation and their families are eligible to participate in the program under the guidelines provided to insure the fair selection of winners.
SELECTION PROCESS
- Schools/Students will submit applicant names and qualifications on an official scholarship application form, along with the required attachments, to the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation by May 1.
- Applications can be found at NHWF.org
- The scholarship advisory committee will use a numerical judging form to fairly review, evaluate and rank applicants on each criterion. Candidates meeting or exceeding eligibility qualifications will be proposed for available scholarships at the May New Hampshire Wildlife board meeting.
- Individual scholarship award winners will be notified following the May NHWF board meeting.
